Our leadership team has been praying and fasting, seeking guidance from Yahweh for the future of New Community Church. We're thrilled about the direction He's pointing us in and the vision He has for our church. We're eager to share with you some of the changes we feel God is guiding us to embrace at NCC.

This is a moment of faith, much like it was for Abraham. We hear God's call to step out and follow Him, even though, like Abraham, we don't see the full picture yet. But we're confident that Yahweh will guide us every step of the way.

mesquite campus relocation
We've been prayerfully considering our path and feel that our current building is not in line with what God envisions for our church. It's actually been a bit of a roadblock. Therefore, we've decided to sell the Mesquite campus. We understand this is a big move, and if you're curious about why we're doing this, please watch the video below.
timeline and updates
APRIL 1 NCC has received approval from the MISD district to rent a MISD school building—something that hasn't been allowed in the past. However, the Administration has shown strong support and recognizes the mutual benefits of NCC partnering with a school in this way. Currently, we are in discussions with Vanguard High School regarding the logistics. Additionally, the price of the building has been reduced to attract more potential buyers. While there has been some interest, no serious offers have been made yet. MARCH 4 We're continuing to pray for the right doors to open! Although there has been interest in the Mesquite building, a reasonable offer has not been given. The price of the building has been lowered by about 10% to attract more potential buyers. We are currently waiting for feedback from Mesquite ISD on utilizing an ISD building. They currently do not have a process for this model. The first step was to get a school to support this rental and submit paperwork through the District. We currently have a hopeful "yes" from three local schools! We are praying to hear feedback very soon. Frog Academy has officially relocated to Calvary First Baptist Church. FEB 4 We are continuing the search for a new gathering place for Mesquite. If you have connections through a Mesquite ISD school or another available building, please contact Aleda Bagby, abagby@newcommunity.co. We are looking at every possibility and praying for God's favor and wisdom. There continues to be interest in the current Mesquite location with showings most weekends. Praying for the right buyer, in the right time or the right amount of money. JAN 9 The team has begun organizing the Mesquite storage space and developing new procedures—a process that will require flexibility and adaptability from everyone involved. Discussions are ongoing about potential locations for Mesquite gatherings once the building is sold. We are currently in talks with Mesquite ISD and Mesquite Parks & Rec to identify a suitable place for gatherings. JAN 1 The building is officially listed, and we received encouraging interest over the holidays. Since the start of the new year, there have been two showings, with some parties expressing genuine interest. We remain optimistic that a suitable offer will come through by the end of February. Typically, the closing process takes about 60-90 days. DEC 31 Originally, Frog Academy planned to relocate on December 31st. However, due to delays in city approvals, their new space is not yet ready. As a result, they will remain at NCC until January 31st. DEC 1 Building is listed online for sale and has generated some interest already.
significant changes
We'll be sharing videos from our community to illustrate this change.
a new way of doing church
Many of us are used to a certain way of participating in church, based on traditional models we grew up with. This usually involves a heavy emphasis on Sunday morning services. Here's a simple graph to show how it typically works: the main event is the service, followed by group activities, and eventually, some of us find ways to contribute back. This approach often means coming to church expecting to receive something.

However, we're rethinking church to align more closely with God's original vision. While gatherings remain important, we also want to foster the kind of genuine community that the early church experienced—one that truly impacted society. At NCC, we aspire for everyone to experience the fulfilling life that comes with being on mission with Jesus. From daily discipleship to utilizing our talents to serve, we're committed to making a difference in the world around us.
