For the past few years, NCC has observed a "Sabbath Sunday" each summer.

Sabbath Sunday is a day that we do NOT have a Sunday Service and we all practice Sabbath throughout the day.

By not having service, we want to spark a change in our routine to help us kickstart a new rhythm of Sabbath.

July 7th 2024, we will NOT meet at NCC
However, we WILL see you on July 9th

In the beginning, God spent 6 days creating the world and on the 7th day he RESTED.

If God rested from his work, we ought to reflect that in our lives. That's what Sabbath is all about. God created us in his image and when we work ourselves at a pace that's different than what he intended for us, we're going to feel it!

At NCC, we encourage people to practice a weekly, 24 hour sabbath to participate in 4 things:
STOP WORK, ENJOY REST, PRACTICE DELIGHT, and CONTEMPLATE GOD.

We have a few resources below to help better explain what the Sabbath is all about.

“Sabbath isn’t a cold, arbitrary rule we have to obey.
It’s a life-giving art form that we get to practice."
